War Council SS

SS War Council, built by Kawasaki Dockyard Co. Ltd., Kobe in 1917 and owned at the time of her loss by The Shipping Controller (Furness, Withy & Co. Ltd.), London, was a British steamer of 5.875 tons. On October 16th, 1918, War Council, on a voyage from Barry (UK) to Port Said (Egypt) with a cargo of coal, was sunk by the German submarine U-63 (Kurt Hartwig), 85 miles off Cape Matapan, Greece. There were no casualties.
