SS TERMINI

Built in Rotterdam by Scheepswerven Jan Smit in 1906, SS Termini was first a German, then an Italian steamship of 1523 tons. On 21 March 1918 she was torpedoed by German submarine UC-37 manned by Otto Kümpel. Following the attack, the ship sank off the island of Milos. The commander Carlo Bottassi survived, but the first deck officer Antonio Migliaccio, from Meta, disappeared and the long-term captain Schettini Adolfo di Alessandro, from Gaeta, was declared missing.
