SV TOBIA

SV Tobia only sailed for three years before it was scuttled 30 September 1915. The sailing ship was built by M. Donnarumma (Torre Del Greco) in 1912, and owned by R. Speranza until she was sunk by German submarine U-33. Her final endeavour was to carry olive oil and calcium carbide from Civitavecchia to Patras. Her 185 ton wreck lies off of the Greek island of Ithaka, in the Ionian Sea.
