SS Eleni

SS Eleni, built by A. & J. Inglis, Glasgow in 1877 and owned at the time of her loss by Achaia SS. Co. (W. Murphy & Son & Crowe & Stevens), Patras, was a Greek steamer of 679 tons. On August 31st, 1917, Eleni, on a voyage from Volos (Greece) to Alexandria (Egypt) with a cargo of tobacco, was sunk by the German submarine UC-74 (Wilhelm Marschall) in Kassos Strait in the Aegean Sea, Greece. There were no casualties.
