SS Natal Transport

SS Natal Transport, built by Northumberland Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., Newcastle in 1910 and owned at the time of her loss by Empire Transport Co. Ltd. (Houlder Bros. & Co. Ltd.), West Hartlepool, was a British steamer of 4107 tons. On September 4th, 1915, Natal Transport, on a voyage from Bombay (India) to Liverpool (UK) with general cargo, was sunk by the German submarine U-34 (Claus Rücker), 40 miles west of Gavdo Island, Crete. There were no casualties.
