SS Niki

SS Niki, built by D. J. Dunlop & Co., Port Glasgow in 1888 and owned at the time of her loss by Hellenic Co. of Maritime Enterprises, Piraeus, was a Greek steamer of 511 tons. On October 9th, 1917, Niki was sunk by the German submarine UB-48 (Wolfgang Steinbauer), 30 miles north of Cape Matapan (Greece). There were no casualties. Raised and repaired around 1929/1930 and continued as the Niki SS owned since that time by Stavros F. Plytas, Salonica, Greece.
