SS Prophet

SS Prophet, built by Tyne Iron Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., Newcastle in 1912 and owned at the time of her loss by Mitre Shipping Co. Ltd. (Houlder, Middleton & Co. Ltd.), London, was a British steamer of 3230 tons. On November 14th, 1917, Prophet, on a voyage from Barry (UK) to Mudros (Greece) with a cargo of coal & government stores, was sunk by the German submarine UC-74 (Wilhelm Marschall), 3 miles SE of Antikythera Island, Greece. There were no casualties.
