SS POLCEVERA

Although SS Polcevera served 4 different owners during her lifetime, she always bore the Italian flag. The iron steamship of 2239 tons was built in Glasgow in 1882 by Blackwood & Gordon, and could accomodate 20 first-class passengers and 500 third-class passengers. However, there were no casualties when she was sunk by Franz Rzemenowsky von Trautenegg, lieutenant of the Austrian submarine K.U.K. U-15, on 25 October 1916. She now rests off of Samos.
