HMS Louvain

SS Louvain, built as a passenger ship by Earle’s Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. Ltd., Hull in 1897 and operated at the time of her loss by Royal Navy, was a British armed boarding steamer of 1830 tons. On January 20th, 1918, Louvain used as a troop transport, was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine UC-22 (Carl Bünte) in the Aegean Sea. 224 persons were lost.
