SS Bacchus

SS Bacchus, built by Detroit Shipbuilding Co., Wyandotte, Michigan in 1917 and owned at the time of her loss by Soc. les Affréteurs Réunis, Bordeaux, was a French steamer of 2.045 tons. On July 11th, 1918, Bacchus, on a voyage from Marseille (France) to Milos (Greece), was sunk by the German submarine UB-51 (Ernst Krafft), 78 miles southwest of N. Sapientza, Greece in the Ionian Sea. 28 persons were lost.
