SS Burdigala

On November 14th 1916, the French ocean liner Burdigala,was on a voyage from Thessaloniki (Greece) to Toulon (France), when she hit a mine, laid by the German submarine U-73. Only one casualty. Burdigala was requisitioned by the French Government from de Cie. de Navigation Sud-Atlantique (Bordeaux) and modified to be used as an armed auxiliary cruiser.
