SS MARIONGA GOULANDRIS

MARIONGA GOULANDRIS SS was a Greek Cargo Steamer of 3,191 tons built in 1905 by A, McMillan & Son, Dumbarton, Yard No 397 for the British & Foreign Steamship Company ( Rankin Gilmour ), Liverpool as the Saint Jerome SS. She was powered by a steam triple expansion engine, single screw giving 10 knots. In 1913 she was sold to J. P. Goulandris, Andros, Greece. On the 4th July 1917 she was torpedoed and sunk by KuK U-14 near Cape Matapan (off northwest of Crete) when on passage from Baltimore (U.S.A.) for Genoa (Italy).
