SS Ville De La Ciotat

SS Ville De La Ciotat, built by Messageries Maritimes, La Ciotat in 1892 and owned at the time of her loss by Messageries Maritimes, Marseille, was a French passenger steamer of 6431 tons. On December 24th, 1915, Ville De La Ciotat, on a voyage from Shanghai (China) to Marseille (France), was sunk by the German submarine U-34 (Claus Rücker), 105 miles southwest of Cape Matapan (Greece). There were no casualties. Other sources mention 82 killed.
