SS Clacton

CLACTON SS was a British steam passenger ship of 820grt built in 1905 by Earle Shipbuilding, Hull, England for Great Eastern Railway Co., Harwich, England. She was requisitioned by the British Royal Navy as an Auxillary Minesweeper. On the 3rd August 1916 she was torpedoed and sunk by German submarine U-73 at Chai Aghizi, Kavalla Bay, Aegean Sea (Greece).
