SS Hallamshire

SS Hallamshire, built by Russell & Co., Glasgow in 1907 and owned at the time of her loss by Helmsdale SS. Co. Ltd. (J. & A. Roxburgh), Glasgow, was a British steamer of 4420 tons. On November 19th, 1915, Hallamshire, on a voyage from Cardiff (UK) to Milos (Greece) with a cargo of coal, was sunk by the German submarine U-34 (Claus Rücker), 20 miles SW of Antikythera Island, Greece. There were no casualties.
