SS Sir Richard Awdry

SS Sir Richard Awdry, built by Clyde shipbuilding & Engineering Co. Ltd., Glasgow in 1912 and owned at the time of her loss by Pekin Syndicate Ltd., London, was a British steamer of 2234 tons. On November 8th, 1915, Sir Richard Awdry, on a voyage from Saigon (Vietnam) to Marseille (France) with a cargo of rice, was sunk by the German submarine U-35 (Waldemar Kophamel), 72 miles off Gavdo Island, Greece. 1 person was lost.
