SS Spetzai

SS Spetzai, built by W. Gray & Co. Ltd., West Hartlepool in 1891 and owned at the time of her loss by Coutzis Bros., Piraeus, was a Greek steamer of 1.904 tons. On September 8th, 1916, Spetzai, on a voyage from Cyprus to Liverpool (UK), was sunk by the German submarine UB-47 (Wolfgang Steinbauer), 60 miles west of Cape Matapan (Greece). There were no casualties.
